Public Welcome Home.--
Miss Tess Naylor, who has been away from Mount Gambier for about 13 years, returned home on Monday night, and was accorded a civic welcome. Miss Naylor went to England with friends and when war broke out and munition workers were called for, offered her services. That Work proving too hard for her, she then engaged in Red Cross work, in the despatch of parcels for the boys in France. She also did a great deal for the lads who were ill or wounded in hospital.

MISS T. J. NAYLOR
There are many residents of Mount Gambier, especially among the retured soldiers, who will regret to learn that Miss Teresa J. (Tess.) Naylor, daughter of the late Mr. Jos. and Mrs.Naylor, Mark-street, Mount Gambier, had died on Thursday at the residence of her sister, Mrs. W. Wheeler, Angas street, Adelaide. She was born in Mount Gambier 50years ago, and after leaving school she obtained a situation with the family of the late Mr. August Holtje, and later on she was associated with the late Mrs. A. C. Holtje. When the Great War broke out she went to England, and during the whole of the war period she worked at munition making, but although that work was long and arduous she always managed to find time to do little kindnesses for the local lads who were in England on leave or in hospital. She was an exceptionally clever girl, and the long and interesting letters that she wrote to various friends were eagerly looked forward to and passed round, and some of them found their way into the columns of the "Watch." When she returned to Australia, after six years in England, she rested in Mount Gambier for a few months and then she went to Adelaide, where she entered a nursing home as assistant to the matron. About two years ago she underwent a serious operation, from which she
never properly recovered. She was buried in Adelaide yesterday. Her brother (Mr. W. S. Naylor) went to Adelaide to attend the funeral.
